Apple kemas kini Macbook dengan spesifikasi baharu, hayat bateri lebih lama

APPLE hari ini mengemas kini spesifikasi komputer riba Macbook, dengan melakukan beberapa penambahbaikan.

Antaranya, pemproses Intel Core M , dipertingkatkan kepada 1.3 GHz generasi keenam, berbanding hanya 1.1 GHz sebelum ini.

Macbook ini juga menawarkan masa penggunaaan yang lebih lama, iaitu sehingga 10 jam ketika melayari laman web dan sehingga 11 jam ketika menonton filem menerusi itunes Movie Playback.

Dengan paparan retina 12-inci, Apple masih memfokuskan kepada rekaan computer riba paling nipis yang pernah dihasilkan oleh mereka, selain turut mengekalkan penggunaan satu port USB-C.

Selain itu pengguna juga diberi peluang untuk memilih warna terbaru yang diperkenalkan untuk Macbook, iaitu warna merah jambu keemasan.

Sebelum ini Apple menawarkan tiga pilihan warna bagi Macbook ini iaitu warna perak, emas dan juga hitam.

"Macbook paling nipis dan ringan yang pernah kami hasilkan ini adalah visi untuk masa depan komputer riba.

"Pengguna pasti akan teruja dengan kemaskini Macbook ini , dengan pemproses terbaru, pengguna grafik dan muantan yang lebih laju, serta keunikan warna merah jambu emas ini," kata Timbalan Presiden Kanan Sedunia Apple, Philip Schiller dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.
Memori Macbook ini juga dikemaskinikan kepada modul yang lebih pantas, iaitu 1866MHz berbanding 1600MHz.

Harga jualan Macbook ini bermula pada harga RM5,499 berbanding RM4,629 sebelum ini.

Pelaburan Coca-Cola dijangka wujud lebih banyak peluang pekerjaan

NILAI: Pelaburan Coca-Cola Bottlers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (CCBM) di Malaysia dijangka memberikan kesan limpahan positif terutama dalam mewujudkan peluang pekerjaan.

Menurut Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, untuk setiap satu peluang pekerjaan yang diwujudkan oleh CCBM, 10 peluang pekerjaan baru akan turut diwujudkan dalam sektor berkenaan.

Menurut CCBM, 800 peluang pekerjaan akan diwujudkan melalui kilangnya di Malaysia.

"Kesan limpahan positif adalah luas. lapan ratus peluang pekerjaan diwujudkan melalui kilang ini dan 8,000 peluang pekerjaan diwujudkan secara tidak langsung. Ia 10 kali ganda.

CCBM mencapai komitmen pelaburan RM1 bilion di Malaysia melalui pembangunan rantaian pengeluaran PET (polyethylene terephthalate) baru.

Rantaian pengeluaran PET akan mempertingkatkan keupayaan kilang CCBM yang mengeluarkan minuman bagi Malaysia, Singapura dan Brunei.

Rantaian pengeluaran ini dilancarkan oleh Mustapa di kilang CCBM di Nilai hari ini.

Sementara itu, Mustapa berkata penyertaan Malaysia dalam Perjanjian Perkongsian Trans-Pasifik (TPPA) telah meningkatkan minat syarikat dari Amerika Syarikat untuk melabur di Malaysia.

Muhammad Ibrahim dilantik Gabenor Bank Negara baru

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim dilantik sebagai Gabenor Bank Negara Malaysia untuk tempoh lima tahun mulai 1 Mei.

Pengumuman itu dibuat Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak dalam satu kenyataan media hari ini.

"Saya yakin di bawah kepimpinan Datuk Muhammad, Bank Negara Malaysia akan meneruskan sumbangannya dalam membantu kerajaan, memberi nasihat dan pandangan bagi memacu perkembangan ekonomi negara, serta mentadbir dasar monetari dan mengawal selia industri kewangan negara, termasuk juga meneruskan usaha Bank Negara Malaysia membangunkan industri kewangan dengan sewajarnya," kata Najib.

Mumbai:  Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who will be see in Gauri Shinde’s next film along with Alia Bhatt, says he has shot for 49 days for it so he “must be having a good role”.

“I should think it’s a proper role…The film is a little different from my other Hindi films. Most of my scenes are with Alia so, I keep coming in. It’s not a hero-heroine type of a film.

“It’s a different slice-of-life kind of a film. It’s a different film for me because it’s not a typical ‘lead lead’ as such. I have shot for 49 days so, I must be having a good role,” SRK told IANS.

The film is jointly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions. This will be Shinde’s second directorial after the critically and commercially successful “English Vinglish” (released in 2012).

Shah Rukh, currently enjoying the success of his film “Fan”, says he tries his best to pick different roles as an actor.

No IPL matches in drought-hit Maharashtra after May 1, orders Supreme Court

Mumbai: The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday refused to allow IPL cricket matches in Maharashtra due to the prevailing drought conditions in that state.



The apex court rejected the plea of Mumbai Cricket Association and Maharashtra Cricket Association against Bombay HC order to shift IPL matches out of the state.



The decision meant that no IPL match would be held in the state after May 1. There’s an exception for one match that is to be held on May 1 between Pune Supergiants and Mumbai Indians in Pune.



The cricket board will have to look for new venues for 12 matches in the month of May including the final in Mumbai on May 29.



After April 30, 13 matches were scheduled to be held in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur which includes an eliminator match on May 25 and qualifier match on May 27 in Pune and the finals on May 29 in Mumbai.



Earlier, the high court order had held a similar view despite an assurance by BCCI that IPL franchises of Mumbai and Pune had agreed to contribute Rs five crore to CM’s drought relief fund.



The order came on a PIL by NGO ‘Loksatta Movement’ which challenged the use of over 60 lakh litres of water for ground management despite drought in the state and had sought for all the matches to be shifted out of Maharashtra.



The court also noted that several districts in Maharashtra are not even getting water for sanitation and other purposes and that the non-potable water being used by the stadiums to maintain pitches can be of use in such districts.

New Delhi: It will be a test of character and battle for supremacy when Delhi Daredevils and Gujarat Lions, two of the most impressive teams of IPL 9, lock horns against each other at the Feroze Shah Kotla ground here on Wednesday.
Barring one bad day in office, both Daredevils and Gujarat Lions had a near perfect campaign so far in the tournament.

While new outfit Gujarat Lions are lying in the second spot in the eight-team standings with eight points from five matches, the Daredevils are a place below in the third position with six points from four games.
After the loss to Kolkata Knight Riders by nine wickets in their tournament opener, the Daredevils bounced back strongly riding on collective efforts to comfortably beat Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians in their next three games to surge ahead in the points table.

After the flop show in their opening match, Daredevils batting came to the party in the last two games against RCB and Mumbai Indians. In the first match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Daredevils got all-out for 98 and then went untested in the second game as the target was a meagre 112.
In the game against RCB, South African Quinton de Kock struck the first century of IPL 9 scoring 108 off just 51 deliveries to guide Daredevils to a seven wicket win while chasing an imposing 192-run target.
Against defending champions Mumbai Indians, it was the turn of young Sanju Samson (60) and JP Duminy (49 not out) who rose to the occasion to take the Zaheer Khan led side to 164 for four, a total which they defended to win by 10 runs.
Daredevils coach Rahul Dravid would be happy with the fact that besides De Kock, other batsmen in Karun Nair, Samson, Duminy also returned among runs.
Carlos Brathwaite, who became the toast of the cricketing world after hitting England's Ben Stokes for four consecutive sixes to win the ICC World T20 final for the West Indies, is again likely to sit out as Daredevils are not expected to tinker their winning combination much.
On the bowling front, Daredevils have experience with captain Zaheer leading the pack and showing that there is still plenty left in his armoury. Both Zaheer and Chris Morris have been immaculate at the death overs against Mumbai Indians, but it is the form of fit-again Mohammad Shami which would be a cause of concern for the side.
If Zaheer and Morris were impressive at the death against Mumbai Indians, it is Amit Mishra, regarded as India's best leg-spinner currently, and South African Imran Tahir who set the platform for the win with their brilliant spell in the middle overs.
On the other hand, Gujarat Lions' has been a fairytale story so far in the tournament. The debutants started their maiden journey with impressive performance in first three games, but suffered a loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad before getting their campaign back on tract with a win over RCB in their last game.
Come tomorrow, the Lions would be eyeing another win which will enable them to upstage Kolkata Knight Riders from top of the points table.
The Lions batting revolves around Dwayne Smith, Aaron Finch and Brendon McCullum, followed by the likes of Raina, Dwayne Bravo and Dinesh Karthik.
McCullum is yet to show his full potential, even as Finch had struck three back-to-back half centuries in first three games, failing only against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
With the Lions opening pair of Finch and McCullum clicking just once in four matches so far, it prompted the team management to rope in Smith in the last game against RCB, dropping Finch down the order.
The move worked as McCullum and Smith (32) stitched a quickfire 47 runs for the opening stand to set the stage for the 181-run chase and they are expected to persist with the same combination on Wednesday.
Dinesh Karthik too came to the party in the last game, scoring a 39-ball unbeaten 50 while McCullum smashed 42 off just 24 deliveries. The two all-rounders in Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja are also expected to come in handy.
But it is the team's bowling department which looks little weak as James Faulkner and Praveen Kumar are yet to sparkle.

IPL 9: Usman Khawaja in line to replace Kevin Pietersen at Rising Pune Supergiants

Australia opener Usman Khawaja is among the frontrunners to replace injured Kevin Pietersen for the remainder season of Indian Premier League. According to Rising Pune Supergiants coach Stephen Fleming - Khawaja is one of the player they are looking to replace the former England batsman.
Having gone unsold at the IPL auction in February, Khawaja could be on a plane to India after Pietersen was ruled of the tournament.

Pune have not named a replacement for the Englishman, but Khawaja is the one of the frontrunners, according to Supergiants coach Fleming.

Mumbai: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap used the digital platform to reveal the first look of his forthcoming thriller 'Raman Raghav 2.0', featuring actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal, on Monday.
In the poster, Nawazuddin, who will be essaying the role of a notorious serial killer, can be seen with red eyes with the backdrop of a metal tool drenched in blood while his entire portrait is coloured blue.

Mumbai: Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, currently busy shooting 'Sultan', says stories regarding the plot of the movie are completely "baseless and fabricated".

Zafar, who has also shot in the capital with superstar Salman Khan, has even requested his fans and well-wishers to wait till it hits the screens this Eid.
"All the stories doing rounds regarding the plot of 'Sultan' are completely baseless and fabricated. Wait till Eid please," the director tweeted on Tuesday.
After Delhi, the whole cast of the film will shoot in Uttar Pradesh from Wednesday onwards.
The film, being produced by Yash Raj Films, will be shot in and around the Morna area in Muzaffarnagar.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pasaran wang Malaysia dijangka kekal stabil minggu depan dengan Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) meneruskan campur tangan bagi mengurus lebihan kecairan.

Bank Pusat itu dijangka menjalankan tender harian untuk mengurangkan lebihan mudah tunai daripada pasaran kewangan.

Untuk minggu baru berakhir, BNM campur tangan setiap hari untuk menyerap lebihan dana dengan menjalankan beberapa tender, iaitu pasaran wang konvensional, Qard, repo dan program Murabahah komoditi.

Pada Jumaat, tindakan bank pusat itu  membantu mengurangkan lebih kecairan pasaran dalam sistem konvensional kepada RM25.522 bilion berbanding RM31.046 bilion sebelum ini.

Kecairan pasaran dalam sistem Islam jatuh kepada RM5.778 bilion berbanding RM12.812 bilion sebelum ini.

Kadar semalaman kekal pada 3.21 peratus manakala kadar satu, dua dan tiga minggu masing-masing pada 3.30 peratus, 3.35 peratus dan 3.39 peratus.

Sementara itu, penanda aras kadar antara bank tiga bulan kekal tidak berubah seperti Jumaat lepas pada 3.70 peratus.

Rajinikanth Successfully Completes Dubbing for 'Kabali'

Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth who, over the last few months shot for two of his projects simultaneously, has successfully completed dubbing for his portions from upcoming Tamil gangster drama ‘Kabali’.

"The entire last week he was busy dubbing for 'Kabali'. On Sunday, he successfully completed dubbing for the film," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
The source also confirmed that the much anticipated teaser of the film will be unveiled on May 1.
"The makers of 'Kabali' have locked May 1 as the date to release the teaser. It's going to be a one-minute teaser," he said.

Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini has come out in support of Bollywood star Salman Khan, who is under fire from the sporting fraternity after he was named as India's Goodwill Ambassador for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Hema Malini, who is the Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha MP from Mathura, called the decision to appoint Salman Khan as the Goodwill Ambassador a good move.

Lans Koperal Mohd Khairul Hisam Azis, 31, mengaku tidak bersalah terhadap ketiga-tiga pertuduhan itu selepas ia dibacakan secara berasingan di hadapan Majistret Mahyudin Mohmad Som.

Mohd Khairul didakwa melakukan kelucahan terlampau terhadap tiga remaja berumur 14, 15 dan 16 tahun itu yang merupakan tahanan lokap bagi kes pergaduhan di dalam lokap berpusat Jinjang di sini antara pukul 1 pagi hingga 5.30 pagi, 10 April lalu.

Dia didakwa mengikut Seksyen 377D Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara maksimum dua tahun, jika sabit kesalahan.

Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Nur Farah Adilah Noordin menawarkan jaminan RM3,000 bagi setiap pertuduhan, bagaimanapun peguam Mohd Syazwan Mohd Salleh memohon jumlah itu dikurangkan kerana anak guamnya perlu menyara isteri dan dua anak.
Majistret Mahyudin membenarkan tertuduh diikat jamin RM2,000 bagi setiap pertuduhan dan menetapkan 19 Mei untuk sebutan semula kes.
